School Kids Learn about the Green Building @ Trimurty’s Aurum
Creating a green building is an achievement and living in one is an experience. Contributing to the global effort of reducing carbon emission, Trimurty’s Aurum is a green building that has received Gold Rated Green Home certification from IGBC.
One can learn so much from this project and see how small changes can lead to significant differences. Recently, young minds of Vidya Ashram School, Jaipur made visit to Aurum and learnt the importance and parameters resulting in a green residential apartment.
The kids were introduced to Aurum’s lush green cover and open spaces that accounts for approximately 80% of the total project area, an important factor in the formation of a Green Building.
The highlight of this fun educational trip, however, was Aurum’s in-house sewage treatment plant. Here, a seven-step procedure cleans the used water and makes it fit to use in plantation and flushing activities, thus resulting into approximately 40% water saving.
Ensuring that best quality of water is supplied to the residents, water softener plants are installed at Aurum. Kids were also demonstrated how to measure water softening level, which they seemed to be witnessing carefully.
Enhancing Aurum’s high-quality living standards are present two DG sets that assure 100% auto power backup within a time frame of 30 to 35 seconds. Kids were told about CFC free Invertor type A/Cs and how they contribute in lowering the emission count at the apartment.
The entire trip was a great learning experience for kids and successfully imparted green thinking and its importance in the mind of the future builders.
Which State Topped IGBC Green Building Rating?
Indian Green Building Council commonly known as IGBC is a part of CII that came into existence in the year 2001. The sole aim of this body is “to enable a sustainable environment for all and facilitate India to be one global leader in sustainable built environment by 2025”. To ensure this, it offers a wide array of services like green building training program, green building rating program, and certification services. Also, IGBC releases state-wise green building data, to check each state status on the Go-Green front.
According to its latest report, Maharashtra has left all the other states far behind in the race of green building spread. As per the data, the state has as many as 1,124 green buildings that is way ahead of any other state.

In totality, India currently has a green building footprint of 3.68 billion sq ft, which IGBC aims to take to a 10 billion figure by 2022. Also, according to IGBC statement, the current footprint is regarded second-best in the world after the United States.
